Rhonda Rice Hatfield is a lifelong musician and passionate piano teacher with over 20 years of experience. She began playing piano at the age of 6 and quickly discovered her love for music. By 12, she was filling in as the church pianist and exploring other instruments. Her performance experience blossomed at Country Village Restaurant in Tickfaw, Louisiana, where she and other children of the restaurant owners formed a band known as The Potscrubbers—a local favorite.
Rhonda earned her Bachelor’s degree in Piano Performance from Southeastern Louisiana University, where she also performed with the Wind Symphony, Jazz Lab Band, and Bella Voce women’s choir. She studied under several notable instructors and developed a strong foundation in both classical training and improvisation.
In 2009, Rhonda began teaching private piano lessons from her home. She works with students of all ages and skill levels, offering instruction in piano, music theory, and vocal performance. She has a special passion for teaching students with disabilities and exceptionalities and is dedicated to making music accessible to everyone.
Currently, Rhonda serves as the Music Director at Courtney Christian School in Hammond, LA, and as the pianist at her church. She’s also completing her certification in Music Education and plans to pursue a Master’s degree in Music Theory.
Rhonda lives in Loranger with her husband, Nathan. They have four children. She is excited to continue inspiring a new generation of musicians and believes that anyone can learn to play and use their musical gifts to glorify God.
